What’s Happening at Wake Forest Law
On Wednesday, September 17, Wake Forest Law faculty, staff, and students marked Constitution Day with a panel discussion, “Constitution Day: Democracy, Power, & the Constitution.”
The conversation examined how the US Constitution both shapes—and is shaped by—the forces of democracy and power in today’s society. Panelists considered recent legal and political developments through a constitutional lens, exploring themes of institutional authority, individual rights, and the rule of law. Together, they highlighted how enduring constitutional principles continue to be tested and reinterpreted in our shifting legal and political landscape.
Special thanks to panelists Professor Nathan Fleming (Wake Forest University School of Law), Professor Anthony Michael Kreis (@GeorgiaStateLaw), and Professor Richard W. Painter (University of Minnesota School of Law), as well as moderator Professor Wilson Parker (Wake Forest University School of Law).

Registration for Law Alumni & Homecoming Weekend will close at midnight on October 15. Don’t wait—reserve your place now. Register at the link in our bio.

From classrooms to courtrooms: our students are making an impact even on summer break. Check out what Mary McCullough (JD ‘26) had to say about her summer in our #LegalDeac Summers spotlight!
“I had the BEST summer at the DAs office. I spent everyday in the courtroom either running the docket or doing misdemeanor trials. I even got to work on a big Superior court case that came back with all four guilty verdicts. I loved everyone I worked with. It was such a welcoming environment. I loved it so much I`ll be externing in the spring!”
“I learned so much about the courtroom, but also learned the importance of relationships. Not just within my office-but within the WSPD, judges, and defense attorneys. We all work together day in and day out.”
