What’s Happening at Wake Forest Law
We asked our alumni, "What was the most meaningful connection you made in law school?" Here`s what alum Katie Lefelar (JD `09) had to say.
"The most meaningful connection I made at law school was with my classmates, Stephanie Lemos (JD `09) and Lindsay Colasurdo (JD `09)," writes Katie. "We didn’t meet until our 2L year when Stephanie transferred to Wake and Lindsay and I learned we would be summer associates at the same firm in NYC. We were all struggling to adjust to the intensity and pressure of the workload, and find a job for when we graduated in 2009. Somehow we found ourselves as unlikely inseparable, studying together and, more importantly, taking study breaks together. What started as a way to manage life in law school quickly turned into a deep friendship. We spent hours discussing not just legal concepts, but our personal goals, fears, and ambitions. They were always the people I could turn to when I felt unsure about my place in law school, and vice versa."
"What made this connection so special was the way we balanced each other out, helped each other stay grounded, and made each other laugh in our darker moments. We shared so many late-night conversations about what kind of lawyers we wanted to be, how we were going to change the world, and most importantly, debates about the best song on the High School Musical soundtrack. That sense of shared purpose kept me motivated throughout law school and well into my career as a lawyer."
"More than just study partners, we became true friends. Through the highs and lows of law school, they’ve been there with honest advice, encouragement, and humor. I can’t imagine getting through those years without them, and I know that we have provided that continued support to each other through the challenges of finding our paths in the legal field over the last decade." @wfualumni

There are 11 days remaining until the Class of 2025 takes the bar exam, and they have been preparing all summer long (all their lives, really). From study sessions and test advice, to simulated bar exams and much-deserved study breaks, our grads are one step closer to fulfilling their dreams. Let`s cheer them on as they cross the finish line! 🙌 🎉

Congratulations to Beth Langley (`86, JD `92), who was recently elected president-elect of the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA) and a member of Wake Forest Law`s Law Board of Visitors.
Beth continues a proud tradition of leadership—four of the last five NCBA presidents are Wake Forest Law alumni. Past presidents include Clayton Morgan (JD/MBA `91), Patti Ramseur (JD `99), and Kim Stogner (`86, JD `94). @wfualumni

"When I came to Wake, it was not a very internationally-diverse place," says Professor Dick Schneider. "Part of our goal was to bring international diversity to the Law School. We wanted to recruit to a broadly diverse class in terms of geography, ideology, religion, and development-level of the country."
Over the course of his career, Professor Schneider helped make that vision a reality.
