About the Litigation Clinic
Wake Forest University School of Law's Litigation Clinic began in 1981 as a legal services project. It has expanded to include the range of the practice of law. We believe ourselves to be unique in requiring that each clinic student have both a civil law and a criminal law placement. The idea is to nurture "the compleat lawyer" - one who has confronted not only the issues of property and money but of life and liberty as well. To this end we have enjoyed tremendous support from the local bench and bar. Well over two hundred lawyers and judges have participated in the Litigation Clinic both as supervising attorneys and as mentors of our students' progress. A Clinic Committee of the local Forsyth County Bar Association evaluates attorneys whom we select to participate in the Litigation Clinic.
